The 2024 Oklahoma Sooners football team represented the University of Oklahoma during the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football season, the 130th season for the Oklahoma Sooners. They were be led by third-year head coach Brent Venables. They played their home games at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. This was their first year as members of the Southeastern Conference.
Confrence play begain with a 15-25 loss to Tennessee in Norman, and finshed with a 17-37 loss to LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, The Sooners finished tied in 13th place in conference standings with a 2-6 record. Overall the Sooners finished the season 6-6 and secured a bowl game berth.

[edit]The Southeastern Conference announced the 2024 conference schedule on June 14, 2023. With the addition of Oklahoma and Texas as its 15th and 16th members the SEC will do away with its divisions and adopt an 8 game conference schedule for the 2024 season while determining the long term future of conference schedule format. The 2024 schedule consists of 3 home games, 4 away games and 1 neutral-site game in the regular season. The Sooners will host 4 non-conference games against Temple, Houston, Tulane and Maine. In Conference play Oklahoma will host Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, and travel to Auburn, LSU, Missouri, and Ole Miss. Oklahoma will play Texas in Dallas, Texas at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in the Red River Showdown, the 120th game played in the series.[1]
