From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jared Matthew "Jay" Garmon is a longtime writer and software product manager[1], and many of his publications have been cited by fellow Wikipedians.

Most of those citations originated during his tenure as the author of the TechRepublic newsletter and web column "Geek Trivia"[2], which he wrote for over a decade (though many have since been delisted by that website, nearly all of them remain available on Archive.org). His short story "Perfection" appeared in the March 2011 edition of Redstone Science Fiction[3], and he also shares a screenwriting quasi-credit with David Goyer[4], with whom he[5] (and seven others) collaborated on an exquisite corpse-style screenplay contest for the now-defunct website Roughcut.com.

His less interesting professional writing work includes contributions for various software companies and publishers, including CNET, CBS Interactive, Scholastic Library Publishing, TechTarget, Backupify, Talla, LinkSquares, and Practical Assurance.

Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Jay is a graduate of DuPont Manual High School and Centre College.
