Sade Greenwood (Sinhala:ශාදේ ග්‍රීන්වූඩ් )is a 19-year-old Sri Lankan Model , A Social Sustainability Ambassador , An Animal Activist ,"International Relations" Student and a Beauty Pageant Titleholder who was crowned Miss World Sri Lanka 2021. She was chosen to represent Sri Lanka at the 70th Miss World 2021 pageant, to be held in 2022 at José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Personal Life And Education

Sade Greenwood was born to a German british father and a Sri Lankan mother. She also has an elder sister in her family, who lives in London. Sade is an avid reader and hails from Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka.[1] The 19-year-old student and model is a social ambassador for The Pearl Protectors, an organization which strives to protect and create awareness about marine environment. She has been working there since the age of 16 and does regularly working part time for Embark, an organisation run by Otara Gunewardene , which is aimed at helping stray dogs across Sri Lanka to have a home and be taken care. She is currently a student, studying International Relations in Tokyo International University, Japan. She completed her schooling at Asian International School.

She also participated in an animal rights silent protest in order to promote and ensure animal welfare in her country. Greenwood is an avid animal activist and took part in an Animal Rights Silent Protest for the government to pass the Animal Welfare Bill and considers it as one of the most proudest moments of her life. Her hobbies and interests include marine conservation, poetry and writing. She speaks English and basic Japanese.[2]

Selections for ‘Siyatha Miss Sri Lanka World 2021’ took place at the Hilton (Colombo) on Sunday , November 07th. The Directors, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Sherine and Dananjaya Bandara officially announced her to represent the country.

Miss World 2021–2022

Sri Lanka last competed in the international competition in 2019 under the delegation of Miss World Sri Lanka 2019 Dewmini Thathsarani, who was highly appreciated for her performance at the event but unfortunately remained unplaced. She represented the island country at the 70th edition of Miss World pageant which held on the postponed date 16th March 2022 (original date being 16th December 2021) at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Miss World 2019 winner Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the end of the event. The event got postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic where many contestants tested positive.

Sade was selected among the Top 40 contestants and was also among the Top 25 Judges Choices to win the Miss World 2021 title, and was on the top 10 for the Beauty With A Purpose Project. It is the highest ever ranking won by a Sri Lankan contestant in forty years , last in 1978 with Manohari Wanigasuriya ending up in Top 15.[3]

Advocacy

For her Miss World 2021 Beauty With A Purpose Project, she and her initiative The Pearl Protectors aims to introduce and incorporate maritime laws and conventions that will protect Sri Lanka's marine life and conserve the coral reefs surrounding the country. This includes introducing preventive laws such as the dumping of garbage and sewage from ships passing through the waters.[4]

"As a little girl I always knew that I wanted to be somebody that made a positive difference in the world which is why I made it my mission to do as much as I could for my country and community. I strived to work hard and work towards my goal of one day representing my country on a global platform and bring awareness to the many charitable causes that I've been a part of over the years," the Sri Lankan queen recollected on her social media handle.

With this project , she was able to place on Top 10 at the Beauty with a Purpose Finals.

Endorsements

Tokyo Cement Group (Sri Lanka) announced the appointment of Sade Greenwood as the group's Social and Sustainability Ambassador. Through this affiliation, Sade will work together with Tokyo Cement to create public awareness on multiple social and sustainability initiatives carried out by the company, with the objective of rallying more people, especially the youth, to become active participants of environmental conservation and social upliftment.[3]

BlingBling (/blɪŋ-blɪŋ/; Korean블링블링; RRBeullingBeulling, Japanese: ブリンブリン ; also stylized as Bling Bling) was a South Korean girl group formed and managed under Major9. The group consisted of 6 members: Yubin, Choi Ji-eun, Ayamy, Marin, Juhyun and Narin. They debuted in both Korea and Japan on November 17, 2020 with the release of their debut single album G.G.B. and disbanded on July 26, 2022.

Career

2018: Pre-debut activities

Yubin represented her previous management company CNC on Produce 48 as a contestant where she was eliminated in episode 5 after ranking 88th place and didn't make it into the final lineup.[1][2]

2020–2022: Introduction, debut with G.G.B, Contrast and disbandment

On 20 July 2020, it was revealed that Major9 would be debuting their first group and from 13 August to 7 September, the hexad were presented, beginning with Yubin, taken after by Choi Ji-eun, Ayamy, Marin, Cha Juhyun, and Narin respectively.[3] On October 25, 2020, it was revealed the group would debuting in both Japan and South Korea.[4]

On November 17, 2020, the group made their debut with the release of their first digital single G.G.B.[5]

On May 20, 2021, BlingBling released their first extended play, Contrast.[6][7]

On July 26, 2022, the K-pop girl group confirmed their disbandment after two years in the industry after collectively choosing to start anew and pursue their personal careers outside the group. Following the decision, Choi Ji-eun and Yubin decided to resign with the agency.[8]

The Billage of Perception: Chapter Two (stylized in all lowercase) is the third extended play of the South Korean girl group Billlie. It was released on August 31, 2022, by Mystic Story and distributed by Kakao Entertainment.

Background and release

On August 8, 2022, it was announced the group would be releasing a new installation to their The Billage Of Perception series.[1] On August 16, it was announced that their third EP The Billage Of Perception: Chapter Two, featuring lead single "Ring Ma Bell (What A Wonderful World)", will be released on August 31.[2] The concept film for the EP titled The End of the World and the Awakening was released on August 25.[3] The group then went on to release teaser clips for their B-side tracks, with "my B = The Birth of Emotion" and "Sun Palace (Stroop Effect)" released on August 26,[4] "B'rave ~ A Song For Matilda" and "Mcguffins ~ Who's The Joker?" on August 27 and "Back 2 Where We Belong" on August 28.

Antifragile is the second extended play by South Korean girl group Le Sserafim. It was released by Source Music on October 17, 2022, and contains five tracks, including the lead single of the same name. Antifragile marks their first release as a quintet following the departure of Kim Ga-ram back in July 2022.

Background and release

On September 1, it was revealed that Le Sserafim will be making their first comeback with new music in the fall.[6] Le Sserafim announced on September 19 with a short clip the upcoming record's title and release date.[7] Source Music has since shared the album's physical release details on social media platforms.[8] Several photos for their concepts titled "Midnight Onyx", "Iridescent Opal" and "Frozen Aquamarine" were also released during the run-up.[9] On October 3, the track samplers were released,[10] and on October 4, the tracklist was released.[11] The music video will be released 18 hours prior to the EP.

Composition

The new album contains a total of 5 songs including the lead single of the same name, "The Hydra", "Impurities", "No Celestial", and "Good Parts (when the quality is bad but I am)". The title track "Antifragile" is an Afro-Latin style pop genre song with a "heavy" Latin rhythm.

Commercial performance

On September 27, it was announced that pre-orders of Antifragile exceeded 400,000 copies.[12]

Promotion

Following the release of Antifragile, Le Sserafim will be holding a live showcase which will be broadcasted on Mnet on the same date to introduce the extended play and communicate with their fans.[13]

OMG is the first single album by South Korean girl group NewJeans. The single album is scheduled to be released by ADOR on January 2, 2023, and contains two tracks, including the lead single of the same name and "Ditto", a pre-release track which will be released on December 19, 2022.

Background

OMG will be coming five months after NewJeans released their first extended play New Jeans, which had strong presence on charts globally and was met with commercial and critical success.[1] In November 2022, Hybe Corporation, the parent company of ADOR, which is managed by Min Hee-jin, confirmed in a online briefing about the future of the company that the quintet would release a new single album in January.[2]

Release and promotion

On November 10, during Hybe Corporation's annual community briefing on YouTube, CEO Jiwon Park announced that NewJeans' are slated to return with the release of their first single album OMG on January 2, 2023.[3] On the same day, it was revealed that the single album will consist of the title track that was already planned at the time of production for the group’s debut album New Jeans as well as a pre-release single which will be released on December 19.[4] On December 12, the first teasers for the release alongside the name of the pre-release track which was revealed to be "Ditto" were released.

Composition

The upcoming single album contains two tracks, including the eponymous lead single and "Ditto".[5] In a brief statement to South Korean media outlets, ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin told press: "If the debut album showcased NewJeans' summer, this single album will be one that showcases NewJeans' winter.[6]

"Ditto" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group NewJeans for their first single album OMG. While the single album is scheduled to be released by ADOR, a subsidiary of Hybe Corporation, on January 2, 2022, "Ditto", was released as a pre-release track on December 19, 2022.

The first teasers, inspired by '90s Christmas visuals, were released on December 12.[2] On the same day, the title of the pre-release was revealed.[3] NewJeans is set to release two music videos for "Ditto" which were both directed by Shin Woo-seok.[4]

Composition

In a brief statement to South Korean media outlets, ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin told that the track showcases NewJeans' winter and that the song reinterprets the Baltimore club dance genre with its "own style".[5] It is known that member Minji participated in writing the lyrics for this song.[6]
