This article is about the Australian socialite

Hulk Morgan is an Australian celebrity, singer, actor, model, radio personality and businessman.

Hulk Morgan (born John Harradine-Smith on May 10th 1983), often referred to by his initials "HM," was born in Nova Scotia Canada, and has lived a majority of his life in Australia. He is a notable South Australian media personality. Before adopting the name of Blue Benny, he was simply known as "The Suit."

Career

[edit]

After Hulk Morgan’s service as marketing and promotions manager for Adelaide based KBHL media during early 2001, his aspirations turned to becoming celebrity. In 2002, Morgan began to develop a reputation as a socialite, being identified as Adelaide’s "It Man" whose fame was beginning to extend beyond the tabloids. With the encouragement and grooming of long term associate Alec Roget, Morgan represented South Australia in the International Police & Fire games from 2002 to 2006 as an endurance runner, and made countless on-air appearances in character for local station JX232 102.6 Radio. He is the youngest man and the only practicing Atheist to be elected South Australia’s Most Entertaining New Personality for the year 2006. He is also the only presenter to have won an award for worst dressed. Currently Hulk Morgan is profoundly involved with the Adelaide Club scene. As a result of several legal incidents involving the widely popular "Titicaca-Titan" Club, Morgan continues to be a prominent public figure.

Drugs, alcohol and health

[edit]

Throughout his short career, Morgan has battled addictions to alcohol and cocaine. By 2007, the pressures of stardom began to take a serious toll on the personality. During "Blue Benny Week" in Adelaide last year, Morgan suffered a drug overdose.

He is also rumoured to have struggled with significant financial difficulties caused by his profligate spending. In mid-late 2007 Morgan formed a friendship with local singer The Cooper, who later dedicated his 2008 album "Scam the Link" to him for the support Morgan had given him during his struggle with addiction to prescription painkillers. After many months of struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, Morgan finally checked himself into a rehabilitation clinic in March of 2008. His whereabouts is currently unknown.
