The Bad Piggies Heavyweight Championship is a world heavyweight championship created and promoted by the Bad Piggies and BAMBOO, defended within any grounds. The current champion is Rylee Cronin, who won the title in an AI rumble after it was vacated by Dean Meurrens. Cronin is in his eleventh reign.

Though initially being defended exclusively as a top prize for tournaments within the Super Smash Bros. video game series and related media, the championship rules have since been generalized to include any form of challenge, and any number of challengers. The Bad Piggies Championship has since been defended in a variety of ways, including mobile games, races, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, and four on four basketball, among others.

The Bad Piggies Championship has undergone three distinct eras that were defined by their champions. In the first era of championship defenses existing solely within Smash Bros. competition, defenses were more rare, resulting in generally longer reigns. It was also in this era that the physical belt had not yet been completed, and exact reigns were not perfectly preserved, such as Meurrens and Callaghan's first reigns and subsequent defenses. The second era of the championship, being sparked by Callaghan's vacancy and begun by the victory of the HoHoHoes at the Orange Heist III event, was also plagued with long defenseless stretches. Upon gaining the championship in controversial fashion, the HoHoHoes proceeded to disregard the long-standing rules of competition which stood alongside the belt. This led to a colossal 224-day reign, which is likely to never be broken given the revamped ruleset.

Origin and Smash Brothers Era

Originally beginning as a conceptual championship that was represented by the traditional money pot if anything, the first two reigns of the Bad Piggies Championship were won in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate respectively. The majority of defenses during this era took place within Dean's basement, hence the DBT affiliation during the early days of the belt that has since been dropped. In between the first and second eras, The physical Bad Piggies championship still resided in the basement for the majority of it's 294 day vacancy.

Orange Heist Era

During the summer of the championship's first vacancy, plans were made to merge the annual Orange Heist tradition with a competition for the belt against the rival Wang Gang. as plans went on, this came to include the newly founded HoHoHoes. In a monumental turn of events, the Hoes stole the victory and then belt at the last moment, beginning their polarizing 223 day reign and the second era of the Bad Piggies Championship. Holding the championship for the entirety of this era and notoriously disregarding the rules of the title, The Hoes notably stalled to maximum lengths before having to making a defense, lengthening their reign considerably. After unsuccessfully planning a defense for the third time, the Hoes peacefully vacated the title in the summer of 2020.

BAMBOO Era

After a revamping of the championship's core rules, its second vacancy was broken with a four on four basketball game to determine a new champion. After new champions were crowned and the new rules were put into practice, and new era of shorter, more varying reigns began.
