International Day is the eighth episode of Season 4. It first aired on May 26, 2011.

Summary

[edit]

In school, children dress up and act as countries from all over the world. But what happens when all the countries begin to yell and fight?

Plot

[edit]

Peppa and her friends have all dressed up in costumes to resembling different countries that are existing for the world for International Day. Madame Gazelle explains that the children will be singing the song of Harmony together later on for their parents, so she has them practice it now before sending them outside to go and play until then.

At first, this seems to work just fine, with the United Kingdom on the slide, France and Switzerland on the swings, Germany is playing hopscotch, and United States of America, Russia, Spain, and Greece are in the sandbox. They are joined by Holland and Japan, who wanna play in the sandbox next. Holland insists they have played in there long enough, which causes the three little toddlers to start crying.

France and South Africa joined the conversation, asking what was going on. Holland stated that it's their turn in the sandbox, but America opposed that they had been there first. France then asked whether Holland was being a bit bossy. Holland insisted that Russia had started the conflict, to which France replied by telling her to leave him alone. They are joined by United Kingdom who arrived to see what was all the racket about. United States of America explains that Holland and Japan are trying to push them out of the sandpit, and soon the argument reaches Madame Gazelle. As she approaches, Switzerland tries to get everyone to stop quarreling, but it doesn't help at all.

Madam Gazelle arrived and asked them what happened. France said Holland was being bossy, while Holland said the United States and the younger children won’t share the sandbox. Madame Gazelle was irritated by this, telling them that this is not how countries should treat towards each other. After apologizing for their argument, Madame Gazelle accepted their apology. When the parents arrived, hoping to settle the situation, Madame Gazelle had everyone sing the song of Harmony. Through this shared experience, they were able to coordinate and get along once again.
