Aaron Brockett is an American Christian minister, who has impacted thousandths of lives all over Indiana through this role as Lead pastor at Traders Point Christian Church near Zionsville, Indiana where he has preched at since 2007.[1]

Early Life

[edit]

Aaron grew up in Joplin, MO. He was said to be very shy as a child. He also had great respect for his grandfather. Aaron would later follow in this grandfathers footsteps to become a pastor little did he know that he would be later pastor of five thousand member mega church. after high school, Aaron enrolled in Ozark Christian College and he majored in counseling. But while in his freshman year at Ozark, he felt god calling him to the preaching ministry. At first, he put it to the back of his head and ignored it. Later, after what he calls a “temper tantrum surrender” he responded, “OK, God, you’re gonna be sorry!” Within a month, at the age of 19, he had the opportunity to be a guest preacher at a small church in Arkansas. Shaking, he remembers approaching the large pulpit with his 25-page manuscript. Eight minutes later he was finished, reading it without once looking up. He said “I thought, ‘That is the scariest thing I've ever done, and I can’t wait to do it again!’” Aaron then switched his major to preaching.[1]

Role as Pastor

[edit]

After nine years in ministry, Brockett and his family moved to Indiana to join Traders Point Christian Church at the newly built facility in 2007. Now he and his wife Lindsay and their four children-son Conor and daughters Campbell, Kennedi, and Kadence-are firmly grounded into the community and the church's future. With a conversational style delivered with urgency and passion, his 50-plus minute messages are honest, bold and challenging, often using self deprecating humor to relate to his multi-generational audience and tackling the toughest parts of the Bible head on. He once preached a sermon on Hell that lasted more than an hour. Brockett also heads missions to Kenya, Nicaragua, and to Haiti to spread the word of Christ to tens of thousands of people all around the world. [1] [2]

Mission

[edit]

“We don’t focus on the numbers. We ask ‘Are we healthy?’ because healthy things grow,” Brockett said. “We don’t want to be thought of as a big, glossy mega church. We just want to make a difference. We’re not trying to grow the church for anybody but Jesus.[2]
