Bibliography
As you gather the sources for your Wikipedia contribution, think about the following:

Bibliography
[edit]- Marsh, C. E. (1981). A Socio-Historical Analysis of the Labor Revolt of 1878 in the Danish West Indies. Phylon (1960-), 42(4), 335–345. https://doi.org/10.2307/275012
- Talks about a lot of context leading up to the riots which is more information than included in the article. Talks about underlying causes rather than what sparked the whole event.[1]
- Roopnarine, L. (2008). UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS MIGRATION. Social and Economic Studies, 57(3/4), 131–156. http://www.jstor.org/stable/27866564
- This article argues that there is a lack of representation of US Virgin Island migration patterns in recent academic articles. The author describes how this is unfortunate because the forceful movement of Africans to the Virgin Islands and the overall migration patterns of the area can bring forth new and in-depth perspectives on the historical context of the Caribbean. Could help talk about the people who live here and their history to contextualize how they are feeling.[2]

Outline of proposed changes
[edit]To improve this article, I plan to add a section that will outline main causes of the riot that were not directly what sparked it, but rather things that have been going on for awhile that oppressed the people and pushed them to revolt about the situation that they were in. I feel this is important as it gives more weight to the situation while maintaining a neutral perspective and giving the people the spotlight in terms of their own experiences in the system put in place within the area.
Now that you have compiled a bibliography, it's time to plan out how you'll improve your assigned article.
In this section, write up a concise outline of how the sources you've identified will add relevant information to your chosen article. Be sure to discuss what content gap your additions tackle and how these additions will improve the article's quality. Consider other changes you'll make to the article, including possible deletions of irrelevant, outdated, or incorrect information, restructuring of the article to improve its readability or any other change you plan on making. This is your chance to really think about how your proposed additions will improve your chosen article and to vet your sources even further. Note: This is not a draft. This is an outline/plan where you can think about how the sources you've identified will fill in a content gap. |
