ASC Hokkaido is a non-profit organisation located in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, which operates sports clubs centred on soccer. They are aiming to join the J.League.
Overview
[edit]In addition to running a soccer club, the club also offers kickboxing classes.
Founded in 2004, the "Atsuma Sports Club" was originally located in Atsuma Town. The club underwent a rebranding in 2011, adopting the name ASC Hokkaido and relocating to Tomakomai City. Despite the move, the club's activities extend beyond Tomakomai, encompassing the wider Higashi-Iburi region.
The "Atsuma Sports Club" established a women's team, "FC Adooma" (which was later renamed "ASC Adooma"), in 2004. This team eventually split off and relocated to Sapporo City, becoming "Nordea Hokkaido." Subsequently, in 2012, the "ASC Ladies," a junior high school women's team, was formed. They competed in the Hokkaido Women's Soccer League from 2018 to 2020.
In 2016, the U-15 team competed in their first national tournament, the 21st All Japan Youth (U-15) Futsal Tournament, and secured the runners-up position.
The team first competed in the 26th National Club Team Football Championship in 2019. They secured a victory in the Hokkaido Block League in 2021, followed by a win in the B block of the subsequent block league finals, which led to their promotion to the Hokkaido Soccer League. Despite finishing last in the standings in 2022 and facing relegation, they triumphed in the 2023 Hokkaido Block League and Block League Finals, earning their way back to the Hokkaido League after just one year.
History
[edit]Established in 2004, Atsuma Sports Club, based in Atsuma Town, entered the 4th division of the Tomakomai District Adult League. They won the Tomakomai League 4th Division A Block and were promoted to the 3rd division. In 2005, they secured 2nd place in the 3rd division and were promoted to the 2nd division. The following year, they won the 2nd division and advanced to the 1st division. In 2007, they triumphed in the 1st division and moved up to the Hokkaido Block League. They placed 4th in the Hokkaido Block League in 2008 but were relegated after losing the promotion/relegation playoff match to Watanabe Industry Riverside FC. The club finished 3rd in 2009 and 7th in 2010 in the 1st division. In 2011, they rebranded to ASC Hokkaido and relocated to Tomakomai City, finishing 5th. They were champions of the 1st division in 2012 but remained after losing the replacement match to Urakawa FC. They finished 3rd in 2013 and were champions again in 2014, drawing in the promotion/relegation playoff game and thus retaining their status. In 2015, they were runners-up, and in 2016, they were champions, drawing in the replacement game to stay. They were champions again in 2017 and promoted to the Hokkaido Block League. In 2018, they placed 5th and remained after winning the promotion/relegation playoff game against Tomakomai City Hall Soccer Club. They were 2nd in 2019, winning the promotion/relegation playoff game to remain. In 2020, they placed 6th, and in 2021, they were champions, winning the finals and gained promotion to the Hokkaido Soccer League.
