Landmark West! is a non-profit advocacy group that identifies and protects historic and landmark buildings and districts on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Landmark West! also performs outreach and has an education program to increase awareness and appreciation of neighborhood characteristics.

Is an award-winning community group working to preserve the best of the upper west side's architectural heritage from 59th to lloth streets between central park west and riverside drive. Since 1985, we have worked to achieve landmark status for individual buildings and historic districts. Today, Landmark West! Is the proud curator of the area's nearly 2,700 designated landmarks (up from only 337 in 1985), and continues to promote awareness of these architectural treasures and the urgent need to protect them against insensitive change and demolition.

As the grassroots voice for historic preservation, we pursue a broad range of community activities, including special events and public programs, advocacy, leadership, and on-line resources.

Form 990, part iii, line 4a, program service accomplishments: youth education: school-based "education program, designed to strengthen young people's sense of engagement, ownership, and responsibility toward their community through learning about the built environment; reaching 1,600 students in 12 upper west side schools each year.

Public programs: special events and public programs including walking tours, lectures, workshops, and community gatherings to inform people of all ages about the history and architecture of our neighborhood.
