It occurs to me that there is no point editing here. I have, under various accounts, tried to have a successful Wiki-life for the past two and a half years. But no matter how much I follow policy, attempt to rectify situations calmly, and generally do what I think is correct, something always goes wrong. Why?
Because there are complete dickheads here who couldn't even tell you how to save a page; yet, they are revered for their "contributions".
And it sickens me. Why should one be allowed to berate and abuse other editors just because they're experts on a particular subject, whereas those of us who know little but try our hardest to keep Wikipedia clean and concise are shunned?
No, this was not brought on just by my feud with Gene (although he is a major contributor to the dickhead population of Wikipedia). Rather, all the idiots I've dealt with during my time at Wikipedia have finally gotten to me. The hot-heads, the vandals, the admins who would rather tell you to grow a pair then block one of their precious "experts" (despite the fact that said experts are easily warranting a block), and those people who find it helpful to criticize everything that I do and tell me how to do it "right".
I highly doubt anyone will read this due to my being gone for so long and low edit count (had I done it from one of my other accounts, you would have known, believe me) but I'm putting it here regardless. Wikipedia is dead. It's over. It's done.
In the immortal words of RickK, "There is a fatal flaw in the system. Vandals, trolls and malactors are given respect, whereas those who are here to actually create an encyclopedia, and to do meaningful work, are slapped in the face and not given the support needed to do the work they need to do."
