Chris Doyen is an author and educator who lives in Bakersfield California. He grew up in in Southern California. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Comparative Literature with a minor in Creative Writing from California State University Long Beach and then received a Master’s Degree from the Critical Studies Writing Program at California Institute of the Arts. He began teaching in the year 2000, starting first at College of the Canyons in Valencia for three years before being hired full-time at Cerro Coso College’s South Kern site at Edwards Air Force base where he stayed for two years. He was then transferred to Bakersfield College in 2006, where he received tenure and has taught full-time at the BC Delano Campus ever since. He teaches literature, mythology, creative writing, and composition. Besides all things literary, he enjoys movies and music.
