Early Life and Education
[edit]Dr. Chukwuma Emmanuel Okpara was born on December 28, 1976, in Lagos, Nigeria, to Ada Margaret and Michael Itiri Okpara, proud indigenes of Amauzu Ezeke Amasiri, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He was the third child in a family of six siblings, where values of hard work, discipline, and compassion were deeply ingrained.
Growing up in a vibrant and supportive household, Okpara developed a keen interest in science and technology. He pursued his passion at Abia State University, Uturu, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Chemistry with an impressive Upper Second-Class (2.1) honors.
This solid foundation in science and his upbringing laid the groundwork for Okpara's future accomplishments as a distinguished financial trader and philanthropist.
Early Career and Professional Journey
[edit]Okpara worked in International Equitable Association (Commercial and Industrial) LIMITED, Aba as a corps member during his National Youth Service Corps in 2002 and was retained as Technical Manager till 2003 when he started his banking career.
Okpara began his banking career with First bank Awka in 2003-2007 where he headed Technical support. Subsequently, he joined Intercontinental bank, Ekwulobia as a Relationship Officer in 2007-2008.
The exposure he acquired encouraged him to venture into Marketing and with his success, he was recruited by Oceanic Bank now Eco bank in 2008. He was made Branch Manager and he took over a struggling branch in Ekwulobia and turned it to a profitable branch within one year.
Afterwards, he moved to United Bank of Africa UBA Nnewi in 2012 -2013 where he worked as the Branch manager.
His brief stay in Nnewi exposed him to Trading and more about Foreign Exchange.
He got into it deeply that he built his way to FCMB Awka in 2013 where he worked as a Relationship Manager with major purpose of bringing in Foreign Exchange transactions.
In 2014, Okpara left the banking sector to set up a PAN African Organisation with offices majorly in Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, Burkina Faso, Cote D'Ivoire, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Chad.
Okpara was officially licensed to trade on Foreign Exchange under the name QD BUREAU DE CHANGE in 2019.
He expanded further to Cotonu, Benin Republic where he is licensed to deal on Foreign Exchange under the name CENIC BUREAU DE CHANGE.
This has led to expansion of chains of businesses across most. Francophone Countries.
