Bukhara state university- In 1922 the Institute of Public Education was established in Bukhara and in Chardjou. One of the founders were Abdurauf Fitrat and Fayzulla Khojaev. In 1930 there was founded the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute. In 1992, the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute was transformed into the Bukhara State University. There are programs for cooperation with universities in France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Russia, Poland and the United States.
