Barry Slorridge
[edit]Barry Slorridge is a British singer, songwriter, musician, and producer. Barry composes music in various genres such as electronic, experimental, classical, blues, avant-garde and ambient.
Biography
[edit]Barry was born in Kilburn, London and began playing the guitar at age 13. He studied classical composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama from 2014 to 2018 followed by Goldsmiths University from 2019 to 2021.[1][2][3]
Slorridge's musical influences include Olivier Messiaen, Boris Tchaikovsky, Gyorgy Ligeti, Richard Wagner, Michael Finnissy, Jonathan Harvey, Arvo Pärt, Tōru Takemitsu, Conlon Nancarrow, Erik Satie, James Weeks, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Zoot Horn Rollo, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Steely Dan, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Buddy Guy, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Ceephax Acid Crew, Rustie, Jodey Kendrick, Dave Monolith, The Ink Spots, Miles Davis, King Crimson, Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, Johnny Greenwood, Tom Waits, The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, The Ventures, Les Baxter
Outside of music, Barry enjoys walking, nature, fish tanks, and collecting vintage cars. Slorridge owns 17 1994 Honda Civic Hatchbacks but does not own a garage, instead preferring to "hide them in the woods".
