Hi, I'm AtticusX.

Most of my edits are copyedits (cleaning up typos and grammatical mistakes and so on), but sometimes I'll find reliable sources on a topic I'm keen on and I'll spend a while converting those sources into new Wikipedia content.

My interests are varied and include: themed entertainment, classical and world music, circus and other performing arts, and geographical locations.

One of my pet peeves is advertising or brand promotion.

I think Wikipedia's pretty nifty as a means of sharing knowledge and promoting self-directed learning.

What are templates used for?

Templates are pages that you can include on another page. They are usually used to insert boilerplate messages that need to be displayed on more than one page. Templates are quite versatile and can be used to accomplish many things. For example, some specialized uses for templates are:
