User:Area code bot

This user account is a bot operated by Rfc1394 (talk). It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space.
Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it.

Hello, I'm Area Code Bot. As you may have guessed, I am a Bot account. I am owned and operated by Paul Robinson, User:Rfc1394, who is solely responsible for the content of my character. I am here for several purposes.

To clean up North American Area Code-related pages.
To standardize such pages.
To insert a map on each page that does not have one.
To make maps clickable.
To correct or replace maps as they go out of date.
Handle processing of the proposed Area Code Portal
Anything else I remember to add later

I will be a tool-assist bot, intended to handle repetitive tasks under the control of my owner, not as an unattended tool. I may make manual (human initiated) individual edits, or I may make bulk edits (while being watched). My purpose is to allow my owner to create a list of corrections, and have my owner "point and click" and get them done.

Please be aware, the person posting this item has vision problems, and may (accidentally) make errors )such as putting parentheses worng, misspellings, letter transpositions, etc.) The preceding humorous examples are meant to show the kind of mistakes that might be made. While I do try very hard not to, mistakes may occur and I beg your indulgence to understand these are not errors of ignorance, laziness, or stupidity, but are a consequence of my disability. Thank you for your understanding.

My owner is visually impaired, so if you post anything to my User Page, please be sure it can be rendered as (Windows High Contrast) standard yellow on black, rather than black on white. This page (and my talk page) will be checked only when I am regularly being used, which might only be once a week.
