Below is a complete list of the operas performed by Santa Fe Opera since its inception in 1957. Only complete operas presented on stage with orchestra are listed; over the years, the Santa Fe Opera has also highlighted programmes of scenes from operas and one-act operas that showcase apprentice program for singers and technicians.

Nearly all the performances listed took place at the three main theaters: original theater (1957-67), rebuilt theater (1968-1997), and present theater (since 1998).

To date, the Festival has been led by the following seven Artistic Directors:
