March

[edit]

March is an AI-powered solution for all aspects of period discomfort; this remarkable smart solution was developed for the first time with the mission to answer the young generation’s need of using non-chemical and non-invasive treatments; go beyond tracking the period and pregnancy; prognosis and diagnose symptoms to medically support the user via its telemedicine dashboard; mute the physical pain, along with adequate mental support from AI recommendations and user’s network of loved ones.

This solution is divided into two main approaches: psychological and emotional discomfort addressed by the app, and physical pain addressed by the wearable. The SaaS offering of MARCH is a mobile app that uses AI, a decision tree of recommendations, medically proven health plans, more than three hundred eleven septillion different health conditions, a dashboard of medical advisors, period and pregnancy tracking and gamification to engage the user and lead them towards implementing healthier cycles by its personalized suggestions. On the other hand, the wearable being part of the two-tiered subscription plan offers to assist the user to mute their excruciating cramps easily and effectively by its interferential current, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, electrical muscle stimulation waves alongside heating and massaging through wired pads.

Surveys have been conducted by March Health's internal team, showing that from 343 people more than 90% of women experience emotional or psychological discomfort at least once during their cycle (every 28 days on average). This survey also revealed that these discomforts have led to daily life disruption at least once during the month for 90% of people. For example, 53.2% of 18-24 women have missed schools/college and office hours due to period pain.

The Wearable Device

[edit]

The majority of people seek temporary pain relief from medical professionals. However, overuse of medications may have unresolvable side effects. The key is to change and improve the lifestyle. Today's technology makes it easier to cope with period pain and PMS.

March is the first in the world to bring together pain blocking technology that stimulates neurons, muscles and uses heating elements all controlled with a mobile App.

57M American people (SOM) experience menstrual pain and 200M (SAM) people worldwide have endometriosis, a very painful menstrual medical condition. Current solutions for both these categories are OTC and surgery. Medication however has long-term side effects.

March’s wearable can safely mute the feeling of pain in the brain thus proving to be a side-effect-free, quick, and affordable solution.

The SaaS part of the wearable is the stand-alone App that addresses emotional, physical, and psychological symptoms associated with menstruation. Eventually, the machine learning and AI in the App will make customized recommendations to our users. The Haas component is the device itself that uses TENS and heating elements to target pain directly with small micro-pulses that do not harm the body. Additionally, our device for people who experience Endometriosis is covered by insurance. We aim to create a world where every woman experiences a comfortable and healthy period.

How Does It Work?

[edit]

First here is how pain mechanism works.

In the early 1960s, a theory known as gate control was proposed by researchers Ronald Melzack and Patrick Wall. According to this theory, the spinal cord contains a neurological "gate" that either blocks or allows pain signals to reach the brain.

March’s wearable uses electrical stimulation therapy (E-stim) to alleviate discomforts associated with menstruation. Physiotherapists, chiropractors, occupational therapists, and other physicians use E-stim as part of their therapy techniques.

E-stim therapy is commonly used for pain relief, but also has the ability to:

  • Strengthen muscle
  • Boost circulation
  • Muscle control

March’s wearable works on three main physical therapy techniques:

1. TENS: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation

2. EMS: Electronic muscle stimulation

3. IFC: Interferential Current

In other words, the wearable focuses on stimulating muscles, stimulating nerves, and penetrating deep into inner tissues.

Currently, the devices available on the market use each of these pain relief techniques separately. However, March's device offers all in one:

  • · Heating system

Improving circulation, blood flow, and making the pain more bearable.

  • · EMS and TENS

Transmits electrical impulses through electrodes that are applied directly to the skin. Besides massaging targeted spots, it also improves and recovers muscles.

  • · IFC

Offers deep penetration over a larger volume of tissue, ideal for treating conditions like uterus cramps, back pain, etc.
