Early life
[edit]Despite the skepticism from friends who wondered why someone with academic success would venture into agriculture, I was determined to follow this path, guided by my faith. My journey commenced in Benue state, where I initiated a rice farming project, but I faced a significant setback when I lost about 10 hectares of farmland to herdsmen.
Tolulope attended Olabisi Onabanjo University where he secured a diploma in Business administration and thereafter he obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos in the same discipline.[6] While still in the university, he resided in Bariga, a suburb in Lagos, where he began to develop his vision towards the agricultural sector in Nigeria. On 6 November 2023, in the issue of Vanguard Allure Magazine covered by Tolulope, he spoke about his journey, early life in agriculture, and becoming an Agropreneur.[6]
Career
[edit]Tolulope ventured into agriculture as a farmer after he was denied a visa to further his education in America. While still struggling for a Visa approval, after gaining admission for his master's, he came across a statistic on agriculture, while watching CNN which led him into the agriculture sector.[7][8] He founded Transfurd Limited, an agricultural development and management service company. The company unit includes Transfurd Farms, Transfurd Technology, Transfurd Business School, and Transfurd Property.[2][9]
In 2021, Tolulope founded Transtech Consulting LLC, an information technology teaching institute. In 2023, the company won the Global Business Awards in the Most Impactful Technology Teaching Institute, USA category.[10] In 2018, he launched the Transfurd Empowerment Scheme, in partnership with International Fund for Agricultural Development, Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme, and Ministry of Agriculture in Ogun State. During the program, Oginni allocated 1 acre of land to 10 farmers and also provided them with financial and training support. In 2019, he was appointed vice president of the World Food Program at the Ghana International Model United Nations Conference.[11]
