Tihomir Kundid (born 2 February 1969 in Varaždin) is a Croatian general who has served as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Croatia since 8 March 2024.[1]

Biography

Kundid participated in the Croatian War of Independence, in which he fought in the 2nd "Thunders" Guards Brigade, where he held numerous commanding positions, including the position of commander of the Armoured Battalion.[2] He joined the defense forces as early as December 1990, and a year later he became a member of the Special Police.

He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the National War College "Ban Josip Jelačić" and the CFLS in Canada. In March 2020, Kundid was made the deputy commander of the Croatian Army, and in October 2023 he became the commander.[3]
