The Revelations is the debut studio album by Australian rapper and producer Kush K, released on 16 August 2024.[1] The album features collaborations with artists WLZ and Shivi B.
Background and recording
[edit]The album was recorded between January 2023 and June 2024 at the HotBox Studio, established by Kush K in Melbourne. While Kush K produced two tracks, additional production was handled by Storm Beats, Baby Slime and Depo Beats.[1]
The project also involved additional contributions from Stefan Garro, Vatty TSR, Kaylo TSR, and Aidan Becker.
Composition and lyrics
[edit]The Revelations features tracks like "Making Moves", "Gra Ta Ta", and "Down Bad" (featuring WLZ), offering introspective lyrics alongside high-energy beats. Critics noted that the album blends rap and trap styles effectively.[2][3][4]
Release and reception
[edit]The album was noted within the Australian hip hop community for its thematic depth and production quality. The track "Making Moves" reached over 50,000 streams on Spotify,[5] while its official music video accumulated more than 200,000 views on YouTube[6] as of 27 November 2024.
