Cue and mind sports

[edit]

Darts is neither a cue sport nor a mind sport. Precision sport is the term you are looking for that would include both darts and cue sports. It could then be expanded to include archery, bowls, golf and such. I don't know where would be the appropriate place to edit the templates. It looks like "cue sports" is very widespread on wikipedia, probably as a compromise between clueless fans and haters of snooker who are halfway through to understanding why it isn't really either a physical or mind sport. It's not a term that's ever used outside wikipedia and most of the time it's too specific and would be better off replaced with precision sports. 2A01:36D:118:9BD:356F:BE8F:9356:23B9 (talk) 12:50, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cue sports is very much a term used outside of Wikipedia. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 12:59, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But I am with you. "Cue and mind sports" is an awful name. Id support "precision", but I'd probably combine into indoor sports. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:01, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I would bet the current division came about because there were people who didn't want these sports included among more physical sports. And no, it's around as frequently used and as relevant here as "bat and ball games (safe-haven sports)" or "stick and ball family invasion sports". It's mostly just billiards fans who saw it on wikipedia. 2A01:36D:118:9BD:654B:9015:C6FD:133B (talk) 16:00, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
