It appears that if a redirect page going to a disambiguation page where one of the articles linked on said disambiguation page has the Takashi Miike template: it causes all other articles with that same template to link to the disambiguation page in the system. The crucial activator being 5 apostrophes in the article, like you would use for italicized bold text in the linking articles.

The example I just had was the "Kuime" redirect page (left note in Talk:Kuime) to

"‎Over Your Dead Body" (disambiguation) which held:

"‎Over Your Dead Body (film)"
"‎Over Your Dead Body (novel)"

For some reason this caused over 40 articles that had the Takashi Miike template and had 5 apostrophes used (as used for bold italicized font) to show linking to the disambiguation page. The minute you lowered the apostrophe number in those articles or you changed the redirect page to link directly to one article, the disambiguation linking was resolved. Also the apostrophes could be accumulate over links and templates has was shown in Yetterman (film).

I'm trying to find out if this is something that is specifically in the Takashi Miike, possibly that can be fixed or something else.

My process working through this can mostly be found on User talk:DPL bot under topic "Nihongo template".
