He is not on the roster according to www.kcchiefs.com--Iamawesome800 18:53, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- He is officially on the Practice Squad/Injured list. He was never released from the practice squad; the transaction on NFL.com and on KCChiefs.com that said he was released is wrong. However, the definitive source for this, NFLPA.org's active player search, still has Jackson under contract. Chris and I have experience with this, so trust us on this one ;). UFA's
[edit](UFA's such as Rocky Boiman) aren't listed on this roster anymore, but for some reason, they are still on the KC Chiefs website's roster... Which one is right? Ringerfan23 (talk) 22:40, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- I think you answered your own question. They're UFAs. Pats1 T/C 02:21, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- But why would they still be listed on the Chiefs site if they aren't on the team anymore? Ringerfan23 (talk) 21:29, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Team websites make mistakes. Most suck.►Chris NelsonHolla! 22:04, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
3-4
[edit]Okay, i know alot about football, except when it comes to formations and stuff. I see the Chiefs are converting to a 3-4. That means that they have 3 defensive lineman and 4 linebackers (in this case, Tamba Hali would play linebacker next to a right or left end).. Am i right here? If i'm not right, please explain RF23 (talk) 01:33, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- Pretty much. As a general rule:
- 4-3 outside linebackers = 3-4 inside linebackers
- 4-3 ends = 3-4 outside linebackers
- 4-3 defensive tackles (excluding the huge 330-pound nose tackles) = 3-4 defensive ends
- It's not always that exact, but that's typically how it works.►Chris NelsonHolla! 01:37, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Edwin Harrison
[edit]Is there a source saying he's on IR? Every source i've found, including the official press release on the Chiefs website, list him as released. Plus he's no longer on the Chiefs roster.. RF23 (talk) 18:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- He was waived/injured and subsequently reverted to to ir.--Giants27 (c|s) 18:03, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm.. i still havn't seen a source for this though, so i question how this is known... but anyways..I don't see why the linebackers/ defensive ends are listed as linebackers (with the exception of Hali and McBride) all the other DE's are listed as DEs on both the Chiefs roster and depth chart... RF23 (talk) 20:15, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- PFW has it. And the reason the Chiefs site doesn't have it is because it's not reliable to use exclusively. These will be their positions when the season starts based on the system the Chiefs play.--Giants27 (c|s) 21:14, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- Official websites and rosters are not good sources of information. The official NFL transaction wire can be found at profootballweekly.com.
- As for the positions, it's just a bit of common sense, though I'm sure you could source it with camp reports. Those of us with knowledge of the 3-4 defense understand where certain players translate in that scheme. 4-3 DEs = 3-4 OLBs, 4-3 DTs = 3-4 DEs, 4-3 OLBs = 3-4 ILBs. It's not exact, but that's typically how it goes.►Chris NelsonHolla! 21:25, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- The Chiefs are supposedly going to be on the teams that will play a hybrid this year, so therefore there'll be guys who play both OLB and DE. Think Bertrand Berry with the Cardinals last year under Pendergast's defense. Or Suggs with the Ravens, the same system that the Jets will play this year.
