Not done: {{edit protected}} is not required for edits to unprotected pages, or pending changes protected pages. However if you want an edit notice for your talk page I think the reason it isn't working is because it should be at User talk:MC10/Editnotice. See this for details. No, I don't want an editnotice for my talk page, I want it for User talk:MC10/Messages. And also, Template:Editnotices/Page/User talk:MC10/Messages is fully-protected as it is on the local blacklist, so I can't move this page myself. M C 10 | Sign here! 04:04, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MC10,

If you want an edit notice created for a specific page you will need to specifically request this using {{editnotice talkpagename}}. Only an admin can make such changes, that is why the page is locked.

I've done some experimenting and it seems as present that only have one editnotice in the User and a User_talk namespaces. And this notice only appears in the top level of the pages i.e User:MC10 and User talk:MC10 but not User:MC10/subpage or User talk:MC10/subpage. (If it did then you could do an if statement in the template to show specific notices for specific page ... but alas!)
