Parameters

All parameters are optional.

Parameter Notes
name The character class name to display in top header; use the most recent name for the class.
old_name1 Previous names for the character class; include the edition(s) the old name was used in.
image Image of the class. "File:" and wikilinking is not required; i.e. use |image=Example.png.
caption A caption explaining the image.
alt Alt text for image per WP:MOSALT.
first First appearance of the character class. Include publication year and wikilink if possible.
editions If a character class has appeared in all editions, but was an alternate class in some of them, use both the |editions= and |alternateeditions= parameters.
standardeditions If a class has only appeared as a standard class, only use the |standardeditions= parameter.
If a class has appeared as both a standard and alternate class but has not appeared in all editions, use the |standardeditions= and |alternateeditions= parameters.
alternateeditions If a class has only appeared as an alternate class, only use the |alternateeditions= parameter.
If a class has appeared as both a standard and alternate class but has not appeared in all editions, use the |standardeditions= and |alternateeditions= parameters.
source An edition's major sourcebooks where the class is presented in the book; see also major work. Include publication year and wikilink if possible.
mythical Mythological basis of the class. Can be used in conjunction with |based=.
based Other creative origins the class is based on. Can be used in conjunction with |mythical=.
1E_base Principal base class in 1st Edition.
2E_group AD&D 2nd Edition character classes are divided into four groups: Warrior, Wizard, Priest, and Rogue.
4E_powersource D&D 4th Edition character classes draw on different power sources for their abilities: Arcane, Divine, Martial, Primal, Psionic, and Shadow.
4E_role D&D 4th Edition character classes are divided into four combat roles: Leader, Controller, Defender and Striker.
