Nain Jaune
[edit]- ... that the classic French game of Nain Jaune is named after Seven of Diamonds which is depicted as a yellow dwarf on the game board (pictured)?
Source: "Ce jeu peut occuper à la fois cinq personnes et s'appelle le Nain Jaune, qui est le nom qu'on donne au sept de carreau." (L'AVANTCOUREUR, lundi 27 octobre 1760 (n° 41) at academiedesjeux.jeuxsoc.fr) and "The True Story of the Game of "Nain Jaune"...This game was initially called "Baby Dwarf " or "Dwarf ", then it was exported to the capital where it depicted a Dwarf dressed in crazy clothes with bells or a little bald man in yellow outfit with his sword (which never left him) at his side, without any particular connexion being made with "Bebé", but definitely given the name of "Yellow Dwarf"." in Theimer, François (2006). “Nain Jaune” in l'Escale à Jeux.

- Date, size, neutrality, copyvio spotcheck, all ok. But the hook does not appear to be mentioned anywhere in the article? Please add it to the article and ping me back. Also waiting for QPQ review. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:24, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, @Piotrus: that's now done. I've added the hook to the article, fully cited, and completed the above QPQ. Bermicourt (talk) 15:36, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
