Martha Bruce, Countess of Elgin and Kincardine
[edit]- ... that King George III placed the "deeply-deplored" Princess Charlotte of Wales under the superintendence of the pious Martha Elgin (pictured)?
- Reviewed: Ferdinand the Holy Prince
- Comment: The hook relies on three references, chiefly Cokayne and The Annual Biography and Obituary for the year 1818, both quoted in footnotes. The "deeply-deplored Princess Charlotte of Wales" is a Malapropism from Burke's Peerage of 1833, quoted in the article.
