5x expanded by Gderrin (talk) and Casliber (talk). Nominated by Casliber (talk) at 13:42, 22 November 2018 (UTC).

  • - Length, Date (Dendrobium bowmanii is slightly late but Dendrobium cucumerinum is well within timing, I'm not particularly concerned with the slight delay), Cite, and Earwigs check. Image is freely licensed with permission on file in OTRS. Cas, if you are able to do two QPQs (one for each article), this should be good to go. Best, Mifter (talk) 01:28, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- All set to go. Best, Mifter (talk) 23:18, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
  • I came to promote this, but just need confirmation: is it considered unusual for two different plant species being able to hybridize when grown together? Because if not, then honestly the hook would then be too ordinary. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:15, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
  • The main interest I thought was the odd names of the plants. Natural hybridization is not too uncommon. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 03:29, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
  • I agree with Narutolovehinata5 on this one. It's not uncommon, but the names are so the hook should really have to do with the names if this is promoted. SL93 (talk) 06:44, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
We'll probably need a new hook then. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:23, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
  • Honestly I am out of ideas. Some of these are hard to find something interesting. As a plant enthusiast, I am happy to leave it to laypeople to tell me what is interesting. Look, if no-one can see anything interesting then archive it. We do need to be more discriminating for hooks at DYK. (I won't take it personally) Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 22:18, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
@Casliber: Would you consider writing separate hooks for each article then? That could be a possible option in moving forward here. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:11, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Sure, if you can see any possible interesting factoids....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 01:16, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
  • I am promoting this approved nomination for Christmas Day, along with some other "unity" and "together" hooks. @Narutolovehinata5: sometimes hooks are just hooky because of the way they're written, not because of their subject matter. Only a botanist will really be interested in this :) Yoninah (talk) 13:29, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
