This external link template is underused, compared to the number of links to the resource it represents. Please help convert those links to make use of this template, for ease of tracking, and ease of interoperability with Wikidata.

This template is a Citation Style 1 wrapper template based on {{Cite encyclopedia}}. For centralised Citation Style 1 discussions, see Help talk:Citation Style 1.

This template is intended to ease citation from online edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica (known as Britannica Online), excluding previous printed editions of the encyclopedia. Much of this template was derived from Template:Cite EJ, so credit to User:Ploni for that.
