Tama Mirza (also spelled Toma Mirza) is a Bangladeshi film actress, recognized for her versatile performances in both mainstream Dhallywood films and web-based digital content.[1] She made her acting debut in 2010 with the film Bolo Na Tumi Amar, quickly gaining attention for her on-screen presence. Her breakout role came in Nodijon (2015), she won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film Nodijon (2015).[2][3] Mirza is known for her diverse roles in both films and web series, including Game Returns (2017) and Suorongo (2023). She has also gained prominence on digital platforms with her role in Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi (2021), for which she received multiple awards.
Education

Career
[edit]Recent Work (2022–present)
[edit]In 2023, Tama starred opposite Afran Nisho in Suorongo,[7] a thriller directed by Raihan Rafi. The film became a box-office success in Bangladesh and was also released internationally, including in West Bengal and the Middle East. Tama's performance was widely praised, and the film set new records in the Bangladeshi film industry. Following the success of Suorongo, Tama signed on to star in another project with director Raihan Rafi, titled Oshiyot.[8]
Versatility and Web Films (2016–2021)
[edit]In the years following her National Award win, Tama shifted her focus from traditional cinema to web films and OTT platforms. She starred in Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi (2021), which was critically acclaimed, winning the Best Actor (Female) at The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards. Her role in Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi earned her significant recognition in the growing Bangladeshi OTT space.[9]
Tama has continued to challenge herself with a variety of roles, including leading roles in web series like Friday (2023) and Buker Moddhye Agun (2023).[10]
Film Debut and Success (2010–2015)
[edit]Tama Mirza made her debut in the Dhallywood film industry in 2010 with Bolo Na Tumi Amar, directed by M B Manik. However, her breakthrough came in 2015 with Nodijon, a film directed by Shahnewaz Kakoli. Her portrayal of a supporting character in the film won her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Personal life
