I will be reviewing this, comments will probably be finished in the next 72 hours! Finally another weightlifter GAN! Arconning (talk) 07:08, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I sadly have to WP:QUICKFAIL, per criteria 1a, 1b, and 2a. If you plan on re-nominating, you could ping me and I am willing to review it as I'm a big fan of weightlifting. :)

Prose and MoS

[edit]

Issues I've seen from a short glance:

  1. Section about the 2012 Summer Olympics is unsourced, and it's the only part of the body that has imperial conversions. As Olympic weightlifting only uses kilograms (countries that typically use imperial measurements like the United States also use kilograms in the sport), it should probably only use metric measurements based on MOS:CONVERSIONS as the primary units are as such in this situation.
  2. Section about Other results should probably be omitted and merged within the Career section, at least stating the lifts that she has done (i.e. snatch, clean and jerk, and the total) + her placement.
  3. Some information is outdated, an example is her bodyweight in the infobox. The International Weightlifting Federation [1] cites her weight as 58.06 kilograms at her latest competition.
  4. Mentions of weightlifter/weightlifting should be wikilinked to Olympic weightlifting.
  5. Formats:
  • Weightlifting medals in infoboxes would probably only include total lifts (which are considered as the major medals in competition) but is on a case-by-case basis like Tham Nguyen that also features her clean and jerk medal as it is notable for being the first Irish senior medal in the European Championships. (Though I do have a COI as I made that article)
  • Medals are formatted gold to bronze, not per year. Though if there are two medals that are the same color, oldest medal would place higher. Also the women's parts in the medalboxes should be omitted as it's already mentioned that Smith competes in women's weightlifting.
