Wind Sheer (Transformers) → Wind Sheer — A short reason for page name change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.94.249.50 (talk) 05:27, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose Needs clearly disambiguating from wind shear. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 17:42, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Why? There's a hatnote pointing to wind shear, and someone who types "wind sheer" in the search box and is redirected here will notice at first glance that it's not the article they were looking for anyway. Or are you suggesting that Wind Sheer should be a disambiguation page for this page and the misspelling? Jafeluv (talk) 17:30, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Support. Primary topic for the title "Wind Sheer". In fact, it's the only article with that title, so no reason to use a disambiguator. By the way, for some reason Wind Sheer redirects here but wind sheer to wind shear. I think they should at least be fixed to point to the same target. Jafeluv (talk) 17:30, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose It helps keep the articles seperate. Capitolization isn't enough to keep two articles from being confused. Mathewignash (talk) 13:26, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- Capitalization is not the only difference between "Wind Sheer" and "wind shear". Jafeluv (talk) 13:39, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- Support. There's no reason to include a parenthetical disambiguating term in the title, when this is the only topic referred to by that name. I don't see the logic in the argument that we need the parenthetical term to avoid confusion between this article and Wind shear; are the two titles listed together somewhere (with no information provided about what each refers to)? How else would this confusion be created? Wind Sheer redirects here as-is, so if you're looking for wind shear but you manage to bungle the spelling and capitalization in that exact way, you're going to be sent to this article anyway (and that's when that helpful hatnote comes in handy). Propaniac (talk) 17:14, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Support per Jafeluv and Propaniac. Wind Sheer and wind shear are different. The hatnote suffices for misspellings. Station1 (talk) 00:57, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
