The Wiere Brothers

[edit]

Mildred Seymour, a classical pianist, joined The Wiere Brothers as their accompanist in 1950. Their act evolved in the post WWII era, to poise European classical music and elegance with Western American music, a perfect cultural balancing act set in staged comedic acrobatics. Unusual, unique, clever, a metaphor celebrating peace on a grand stage, performed as an international opening act for stars including Judy Garland, Jack Benny, Johnny Mathis and Tom Jones. The Queen of England delighted in The Wiere Brothers act assuring four command performances. Previous to joining the Wiere Brothers, in the 40's Mildred was the pianist in USC's chamber orchestra radio broadcast, The Music Room. The city of LaVerne California honored Mildred Seymour for her talent and her role in entertainment history by formally establishing her family home in the historic register.
