- This is not a widely known song, and the only setting I could find is from Erk & Immer (1843). A slight variation (using C instead of G to start the repeated section both times) of that melody is used, as a second version there, in Erk & Böhme (1894). Those versions use low-German dialect, which Des Knaben Wunderhorn (DKW) doesn't. On the other hand, DKW's words after bar 4 are impossible to fit to the melody, so I used DKW's words where I could, and Erk's where I had to. Seeing that this caused concern, I'm now going to use Erk's 1894 words throughout the score. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:01, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
