This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
As I understand it, the "Volunteer Medal" currently listed under the Korean War section of List of Orders, Decorations and Medals of the Kingdom of Belgium is just exactly the same medal as the Volunteer Medal 1940-1945, just made after 1952. And military bureaucracy being what it is, the vast majority of recipients were ex-WW2 veterans with late paperwork rather than Korean War veterans (their only distinction was the bar COREE-KOREA).
