... that you can see a large part of Yosemite National Park from Vogelsang Pass?Source: https://www.yosemite.ca.us/library/tuolumne_meadows_trails/vogelsang_pass.html

- New enough, long enough, and mostly well-enough sourced. The second sentence of the first paragraph, stating the surrounding features, does need a published source; this could be a USGS topo map, for instance. QPQ done. Earwig found no problematic copying, only a properly-marked quote. I'm a bit unsure of the image, for two reasons: first, because it shows mainly the basin of Gallison Lake and surrounding ridges, rather than "a large part of Yosemite National Park", and second, because it is a view from the pass trail rather than from the pass itself. Additionally, I cannot find the hook claim within the article or in the hook source, and I am not sure I find the hook believable. Yosemite encompasses over 1000 square miles; does the pass really have a viewshed constituting a significant fraction of that? So we need (1) A source for the surrounding features, (2) an image from the pass itself, or no image in the DYK hook, and (3) content and sourcing in the article supporting the "large part of Yosemite" claim, or a different hook. —David Eppstein (talk) 00:20, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- @David Eppstein:
- Source for surrounding features Done
- Image from pass itself Done (see above)
- "Large part" in hook. Here is an alternative, supported by multiple sources (albeit with different phrasing):
- ALT1: ... that the view from Vogelsang Pass (pictured) is "one of the most stunning" in Yosemite National Park?

- Ok, after I made some minor adjustments I think this is good to go with ALT1. Flickr image license confirmed. —David Eppstein (talk) 06:33, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
