The current version of this article in my opinion lacks the most basic standard of quality. It is a list of random years, in many cases with no or very little relevance to the city's history (the opening year of a certain restaurant? the construction of a factory hall? the founding of a minor advertorial weekly?). Many dates are wrong, misleading or mixed up with other events (384, 1662, 1678, 1683, 1853, 1878, 1884, 1951, 1959, 2005), etc. In short: this list has been put together by someone who clearly has no knowledge of the subject. The list of references makes it look like a well-researched article but it uses outdated and misinformed sources like the 1910 Haydn's Dictionary of Dates and, also 1910, Encyclopaedia Britannica. The bibliography appears impressive but has been googled together and lacks the three obvious sources for any article on the history of Maastricht: the 2005 Historische Encyclopedie Maastricht, the 2006 Tweeduizend jaar Maastricht and the 2006 20 eeuwen Maastricht. Sorry to be so harsh. Personally, I do not see the need for a list like this, a well-written History of Maastricht would make more sense (which I might endeavour on one day...).
