I was wondering if an article for Tiktok's Chinese counterpart Douyin should be added. I understand that it's very similar to Tiktok, but given its prominence in China I believe Douyin should get a separate article for itself. Chorchapu (talk) 22:11, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm curious on other editors' thoughts on this as well. Douyin is technically a separate entity/platform from TikTok, and has a controversial number of restrictions that TikTok does not have. Seems like it would be worth designating a separate article to highlight notable facts surrounding that app itself and the differences between the two. What is the point?
Is this possible to describe what is the point of migration with reliable sources? I mean, using TikTok controlled by Communist China is one thing, but moving to other social media (Xiaohongshu) which is also controlled by Communist China is something over me. Would also these people use Russian VK? Eurohunter (talk) 23:44, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
