Date Formed
[edit]The 34th government has not yet been formed. It is expected to be sworn in on Wednesday, May 13th. Happy138 (talk) 12:27, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
Deputy Ministers
[edit]For some reason the official Knesset web site's page on the 34th government lists all of the Deputy Ministers as having taken office on May 19, whereas all of the full Ministers took office on May 14. I have read a number of articles about the formation of this government and have seen nothing to suggest that the Deputy Ministers did not take office along with everyone else. Does anyone have a source on this one way or the other? Neutron (talk) 23:39, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- This is fairly common practice in Israeli government formation - the deputies are often appointed several days after the main ministers. Number 57 00:30, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
Summer 2016 Cabinet Reshuffle
[edit]Press reports indicated a shake-up in the cabinet in July-August 2016. http://www.timesofisrael.com/michael-oren-named-deputy-minister-in-reshuffle/ I suggest this article will need to be updated accordingly.One-Off Contributor (talk) 04:23, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Where to Put the "Fundamental Law of Israel as the Nation-State of the Jewish People"?
[edit]On 19 July 2018, the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, passed the ‘Fundamental Law: Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people’ after a very long deliberation. The act states that Israel is the state of the Jews; declares that Israel is the place where the self-determination of Jews and Jews alone is realised; downgrades the Arabic language from an official language to a special status language; officially recognises the country's name, flag, anthem, the status of Jerusalem as the capital city; the special relationship with the diaspora; and Jewish holidays as official days of rest for the state.
This law was passed during the IV Netanjahu Government. Where could it be placed in this tab? Does it deserve a separate Wikipedia entry? S.vecchiato (talk) 01:52, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
