I see that there have been two moves, but no discussions about them. Second issue: I don't remember the series being a miniseries. I'm pretty sure it was a series that only lasted three episodes. The sources don't say "miniseries" (IMDb would say if it was). But, the two sources given are both unreliable. Pinging @TAnthony: --Musdan77 (talk) 19:36, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This series was not meant to be a miniseries, they brought in Earl Hamner of The Waltons to work on the program and he wanted it to succeed. I just now wondered if the pilot movies, and this television series, were on Wikipedia. After reading the Young Pioneers articles I started doing research, and found some newspaper articles to use as references. After I had improved this article I planned to ask for a discussion on removing miniseries from the name. I checked to see if there were earlier comments, and found this one. I should have read all of my references before commenting here. In April 1978 there were three try-out episodes, the first was two hours, followed by hour long episodes. The newspaper articles state that if the ratings were good the series may find a place on the fall schedule. So The Young Pioneers was an unusual show that had two TV movies that could be considered pilots, then a three-episode trial run, with the possibility of becoming a full-season series. I have made notes of numerous references, and will soon begin work on improving this article. Karenthewriter (talk) 01:08, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
