Golden shower
[edit]No reference to the (infamous) golden shower scene? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.87.19.194 (talk) 01:46, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Article links to this real newspaper, a venerable African-American newspapers that was almost certainly not the paper the movie portrays (because it was a very small newspaper that hired black reporters). I have no doubt that the movie script used the name Miami Times to give the impression of a major, big city daily. I left the link alone, but I am not at all sure whether the link should stand.E.M.Gregory (talk) 17:52, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- "Almost certainly" is just a personal opinion, not basis for action. The film doesn't give any evidence the newspaper is not the real-world Miami Times; in fact, many elements check with the real counterpart (writing about the Civil Rights Movement, employing black as writers, etc.), and is never treated as a major daily. To counter an opinion with another, I have no doubt Daniels and Dexter know what the Miami Times is and what it was in the 1960s, so they certainly didn't use the name randomly. Until someone finds a reliable source (e.g. an interview with the director) saying otherwise, the link to the Miami Times page is warranted. (Any disclaimer about it should go in a specific section, not the synopsis, anyway). Kumagoro-42 09:08, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
