Redirect to Jexodus keeps getting removed by article author

[edit]

Pinging Rosguill, Barkeep49, Neutrality, and Power~enwiki, all whom who have Redirected this article to Jexodus, but whose Redirect was immediately reverted by the author StarKB1985. Instead of doing this a fifth time, I think we should talk this out with the author and clarify that reverting such a consensus is not appropriate, and can have consequences. thanks. Britishfinance (talk) 00:01, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Makes sense. I support restoring the redirect. StarKB1985, any questions? Thanks. Neutralitytalk 00:14, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I obviously support this being a redirect but in reality we will likely need to go to AfD to get an enforceable consensus. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 01:05, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Given that at this point the existing consensus is for a redirect, shouldn't the article be kept as a redirect for the duration of this discussion per BRD? If we fail to reach a consensus in this discussion, then we can restore the article and go to AfD. signed, Rosguill talk 01:12, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Jexodus.org is now owned by a nonpartisan group with a different mission to the group described in Jexodus. Doug Weller talk 21:34, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, it seems appropriate to replace Jexodus with a redirect to here. signed, Rosguill talk 21:49, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Sorry, I just saw from Doug that I need to add to the thread, to actually ping it again. (hopefully its correct this time). This solution above from Rosguill might make sense. A quick google search will show regular activity for "The Exodus Movement" versus if you search "Jexodus." But I also had additional thoughts below dependent on how you feel about reversing the redirect. StarKB1985 (talk) 19:04, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hey Rosguill, Barkeep49, Neutrality, and Power~enwiki - thats my big issue as I've noted when I've tried to stop the redirect. They are separate entities and there is a plethora of news coverage on Elizabeth Pipko and The Exodus Movement from the last 2 weeks alone that mention nothing of "Jexodus". As you can see here on a quick google search. The Exodus Movement is an arm of Red Sea Rising PAC according to their website and have no mention of Jexodus. Jexodus is it's own entity as stated above, and weirdly enough that wikipedia page incorrectly starts with Jexodus "also know as TheExodusMovement.com" which is incorrect. I understand that this super confusing because a million groups sprouted up like JEXIT, JEXODUS, EXODUS, et cetera. But I believe the founder Elizabeth Pipko helps create separation from all the confusing monikers with her received media coverage. I am obviously not as well versed in Wikipedia editing as everyone here though, so however I can help in providing evidence to stop this redirect to incorrect information, I am happy to help. signed, StarKB1985 (talk) 17:33, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
StarKB1985 if you want to ping people, you need to sign your comments using four tildes, ~~~~, otherwise the notification won't fire. I only saw this because I'm still watching the page. signed, Rosguill talk 21:52, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Exodus from Judaism?

[edit]

Does the ultimate aim of the movement include an exodus of Jews from Judaism itself (ie mass conversion to Christianity), abandoning perceived liberalizing effects of Jewish doctrine/tradition? Hyperbolick (talk) 20:45, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
