Fair use rationale for Image:Thameslink logo.gif
[edit]Image:Thameslink logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

- As there is no longer a page at Thameslink (train operating company), and no Wiki links point there, should this page be moved back? JaJaWa |talk 04:07, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Possible change to article title
[edit]A discussion has been started at Talk:Southeastern (train operating company, 2006–2021)#Shouldn't this be titled Southeastern (2006–2021 train operating company)... which might affect the title of this article. To keep discussion in one place, please leave comments there rather than here. Thryduulf (talk) 09:45, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Thameslink (train operating company, 1997–2006) → Thameslink (1997–2006) – WP:OVERPRECISION. If the article didn't require disambiguation, it would have originally been named plain Thameslink, along the same lines as other train operator articles that don't have rail or train in their title, Avanti West Coast, c2c, Greater Anglia etc. The title does require disambiguation, but two levels of it, i.e. both train operating company and the years that it operated is being over precise. Propose renaming along the same lines as TransPennine Express (2016–2023). Naleork (talk) 23:33, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Weak oppose as this is not a sub-article of Thameslink, not WP:PRECISE, gives the impression this article is on the history of the railway line between 1997 and 2006. Keep the standard disambiguator for ambiguous train operating companies. TPE is a unique name only used by train operators, so not comparable. DankJae 00:06, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose for similar reasons to DanJae - this is about the TOC not the line and therefore the full name as used at the moment is more appropriate.
