Fair use rationale for Image:TCILogo.gif
Image:TCILogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Article Dreafully short for what used to be the largest provider
Does any one know any more history or info on this company. I know a little, but I am not sure if I should add it to another artile, to this one, or at all. The article mentions that at one time, it was the largest Cable Broadcasting Provider in the United States. What I know is that, a little bit before merged with AT&T, TCI decided to get rid of all of its Rural Utah systems. These systems were sold to a knew owner, whome was just getting into the business. The new cable company created by this sale was named Peak Cablevision. In about 2001, Peak Cablevision and all of its assets were sold to a group of investors who renamed the company Precis Communications. There are probably several other companies that got started from TCI selling systems too. 12.152.161.212 (talk) 04:09, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Assets and history
I remember the announcement of AT&T's acquisition of TCI. The acquisition was of apparent importance in the business world --CNN talked about the acquisition all afternoon. In my area, and the surrounding communities AT&T sold its newly acquired cable services after only a short period of ownership (a few months) to Charter, so I know that not all of AT&T's cable assets went to Comcast.
Additionally, on a personal note, I remember TCI's service being less than stellar and the cable signal quality being notably unclean.

Proposed merger
Since the article is so short, the company no longer exists, and the history of this company is so intricately linked with that of Liberty Media, I would like to propose merging the two articles.
I'm finding a great deal of information about TCI as I improve the Liberty Media article. This began with wanting to improve the DMX (music) article because DMX took over AEI, a company that provided music I really enjoyed in one mall and in another mall's department store. The description of Liberty Media's relationship with these companies was so complicated I felt obligated to keep doing research and make sense out of the confusion.
After Liberty kept Sirius-XM out of bankruptcy, I decided to get back to work and found a ton of information. It simply is not possible to write two separate articles about these companies without a lot of needless duplication. My suggestion is that the pre-Liberty history of TCI go in a special section of the Liberty Media article. I'm working on what will go into that right now.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 20:55, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm ... it appears the two companies are only intricately linked from 1991 to 2001. I was thinking it was longer.
Still, we're talking A LOT of duplication, and I've got a feeling that wouldn't be acceptable on Wikipedia.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 21:07, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
While someone figures out how to handle the years 1991-2001, I have this list of what came before and after. And more details of what's in between. This is getting more complicated by the minute.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 22:02, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Someone deleted the template. I guess that counts as a no vote.
I'm using the source I identified above to suggest topics to search for. I've already found a lot. The company's first 16 years are covered. Things are getting much more complicated as I search for more, and I guess it's a good time to stop for now. I'll resume my search for more information another day.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 22:06, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
I don't think anyone will be proposing a merger anytime soon. And this is WAY beyond stub quality now.
At least in terms of length. It is longer, though it could be much better. I added what I could find. I don't claim any of my work will ever be a featured article.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 20:50, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
