Hi I really like this page, but im surprised there are no references, WIkipedia is good for getting ideas and this is what this page does.

There seems to be a very academic-centred view of archaeological survey in this article as it stands. It needs an extensive re-write to incorporate the rather different approach taken under commercial, developer-funded, conditions. The techniques may be broadly the same but time and budgetary factors mean that there is not the same emphasis on drawing up research aims or on performing any high level of analysis. I would also question the way the distinction is drawn between intensive and extensive survey. Certainly in the UK it is not unheard of for high resolution geophysical surveys to cover a number of square kilometers, and there is at least one research project, at East Heslerton where something of the order of 10km2 has been surveyed in this way. 81.153.228.212 21:45, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aerial survey

The information in this section is dated. I would propose renaming it Remote sensing, as tis term is inclusive of the wide array of data collection and imaging techniques, including satellite-based systems. If such changes are made, they should also be reflected in the general article on archaeology. Tapatio (talk) 15:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I was checking out this article and noticed that links to References 2 and 11 aren't working. I can see if I'm able to find updated links to these sources. Banana.oceans (talk) 00:52, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Today I replaced reference 2 and the info associated with it. The new source is from the same institution but from 2014. Banana.oceans (talk) 19:41, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
