Stratford Regional

Please note there is no step free route between Stratford Regional Station and the new Stratford International station for Southeastern High Speed services. [1]

This is an alternative name for the station and appears in the web page cited. MRSC (talk) 15:00, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually it no longer does! The page has been updated in a new style! best, Sunil060902 (talk) 12:40, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
The station will probably be renamed regional in a few years.Likelife (talk) 15:03, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
At the moment the National Rail page title is Stratford (London); also mentions "Penalty Fares apply to journeys from Stratford (London) station when travelling...". best, Sunil060902 (talk) 12:29, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Calm down, dears! I've managed to cunningly stick both names in the Alt_name field! best, Sunil060902 (talk) 12:38, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Article name

I moved this back from Stratford (Regional) station as this format isn't how it is represented in any sources and does not follow our disambiguation guidelines. My instinct is to wait for the DLR to open and see if published sources start referring to it as "Stratford Regional", then we can follow that. If it were to be renamed I would expect Stratford Regional station, i.e. without parentheses. MRSC (talk) 06:59, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Cross-platform interchange

How do people pay for transferring between two different systems on a cross-platform interchange? 15:15, 24 January 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.48.87.202 (talk)

Normally it is not a problem. If a passenger is on a paper ticket, travelcard or Oyster PAYG for the whole journey then their journey is priced according to the start and end points or zones. They don't need to do anything to mark the mode transition. The only time a passenger needs to do anything is when they are using a paper ticket for the National Rail part and Oyster PAYG for the Underground part. There is at least one Oyster validator for these users to touch in or out of the Oyster part of their journey. If you look at File:Stratford station platform 8 look west.JPG you can see one just to the behind left of the man closest to the camera. --DanielRigal (talk) 20:59, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Nothing has to be done even if a passenger is crossing from one system to another, each serve by a different company? And without faring gates how to make sure that the passengers have actually used the validators? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.48.85.254 (talk) 17:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
The whole ticket system in London is inter-graded so using different companies or systems make no difference. Oyster charges by the length of journey time (apart from on Buses and Trams) and to leave a station you must the have to go through barriers or pass a validator. I believe all stations in London have barriers or the smaller Oyster validators. For Oyster, if you go through one barrier and 'touch in' and then go through another in and don't 'touch out' then you will lose money as it will charge you the maximum possible. If you travel from say Ilford (a National Rail station) to Mile End (a London Underground station) and change at Stratford, you can (but don't have to) touch in at a pink validator on the platform in Stratford which says your making an interchange there. But you must touch in and out at the origin and destination. For Travelcards (the paper ones) its just one cost depending on the zones you want to travel in. As they are brought at your starting station, you have already paid for it, so there is no problem unless you leave the area it is permitted in. Also on some services they check if you have 'touched in' at a station by hand held Oyster readers. Of course if you haven't then, you will be fined. If you have a travelcard you just have to show it to them. I hope that all makes sense. Likelife (talk) 19:04, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
You only need to touch in and out if you are using Oyster PAYG - if you have a Travelcard season ticket on your Oystercard and are travelling wholly within its zones of validity then you do not need to touch in or out - unless the station has ticket gates which are closed! If you have a Travelcard that is not valid in Zone 1 and are changing trains here to / from the Overground then you should also use the pink card readers on platforms 1 & 2, as otherwise you might be charged extra. Chiltern Railways

I read on the chiltern railway page that they operated 1tpw from Stratford to Oxford. Is this is correct why is it not shown on this page? Wilbysuffolk Talk to me 16:06, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Primarily because it's from Stratford-upon-Avon to Oxford, not from Stratford, East London. It's a stock-positioning working to allow the two-car set used on the Oxford-Bicester Town route to be swapped over for maintenance. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:33, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

bus service

My understanding was that the bus service was a temporary measure until the DLR link was completed. Is this the case and if so has it been discontinued? Plugwash (talk) 23:46, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

The bus service is still running. 94.1.65.36 (talk) 11:38, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Notices at the Stratford (regional) stop state that it will cease running after Westfield shopping centre opens. At that point there will be a free walking route between the stations, which there currently isn't. Thryduulf (talk) 13:27, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Off-peak service frequencies

The numbers for the Central Line frequencies are a bit weird. According to the page there is 30tph westbound and 27tph eastbound. Huh? I don't think that is true.. 94.1.65.36 (talk) 14:15, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Platforms 11/12

I quote: "Platforms 11 & 12 have been used since December 2005 for Greater Anglia services to Broxbourne and Bishop's Stortford. There is a half-hourly service Monday to Saturdays, extending to Hertford East, Stansted Airport or Cambridge in the peaks with an hourly service to Cambridge on Sundays, as of the December 2011 timetable.[19] Most services use platform 12, since trains cannot terminate and reverse direction in platform 11."

This is no longer true, particularly the last section. Weekdays, all trains run into platform 11 (mostly from Bishops Stortford, during the peak some also from/to Hertford East and possibly Broxbourne), and reverse there (therefore it is quite obviously possible). Platform 12 is kept clear for empty stock movements between the depot north of Stratford, and Liverpool Street, to provide the increased peak services. On Sundays, trains again run into platform 11 from Cambridge. The only time platform 12 is used is when the route between Tottenham Hale and Liverpool Street is closed for weekend engineering work, at which point some trains will use both platforms 11/12 and run through to Liverpool Street (and others will go via the Seven Sisters route).

See the current timetables from Greater Anglia: http://www.greateranglia.co.uk/travel-information/journey-planning/timetables/station/SRA 91.125.233.251 (talk) 12:15, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

This does not make it completely clear whether the services normally terminate and Stratford, which I take it they do from the mention of reversing. A better wording would be "Platforms 11 & 12 have been used since December 2005 for Greater Anglia services between Stratford and Broxbourne / Bishop's Stortford."

Dutch flyer

I suspect that an Abellio employee is editing this page to promote what appears to be a through ticketing initiative rather than an actual service brand name. Is it possible to get this blocked as I believe at least one editor has removed this item only for it to be restored. --Davidvaughanwells (talk) 22:38, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

There is an editor who does change the order of the rows in the routebox (not just here but other pages on the GE main line); more often than not they break the formatting and don't understand how to fix it again. Since they often make three or more edits before giving it up as a bad job, it's not clear what their original intention was, so it's easiest to revert to the last unbroken version. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:33, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Stratford station railway services Jameesyby14 (talk) 23:05, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Not done: I don't think you understand what an edit request is. You aren't asking for access to edit the article, you're making requests that an editor who already has access to edit the article edit it on your behalf. That's why your edit request needs to be a specific request, suggesting the specific wording to be added, removed, or changed within the article. As it stands right now, you may make a specific request for an edit if you have one, or you can wait four days and you will be able to edit this article without restriction. --ElHef (Meep?) 00:16, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

Add cycle park/toilet info to infobox:

| cyclepark = Yes - external
| toilets = Yes - behind gateline

SheffGruff (talk) 12:11, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

@SheffGruff: Question: I'm not sure that's a good idea - the infobox is supposed to hold key facts that are discussed in the article, and the article text mentions neither cycle parking nor toilets. Where were these parameters proposed? How do they fit in with WP:NTT? The infobox does hold a Facilities link, where this information - and more - may be found by those that are interested. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:56, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

[[Category:Central Line stations]] has been moved to [[Category:Central line stations]] and [[Category:Jubilee Line stations]] has been moved to [[Category:Jubilee line stations]]. Please change these for consistency with all other tube stations.--DavidCane (talk) 17:59, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Image Caption Misleading

As the person who took and uploaded the photograph of the Class 416 trains at the low level platform I've altered the image caption to correctly reflect that the DLR and NOT the Jubilee Line replaced these platforms. The three JLE platforms are on the left of these platforms.Spsmiler (talk) 18:06, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Services Suggestion

I think there should be a consensus for this as a lot of users keep editing that section. This is kind of like 'disruptive editing' as it keeps on changing. :( Vincent60030 (talk) 16:34, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
