You sure it's "Johannsen"?
[edit]Is it that, or is it "Eugene"? Yes, I know Eugene is Mr. Krabs's first name. Random the Scrambled 01:29, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- Where did you hear of Eugene? -AMK152 22:47, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- YTV. Oh, and the middle name "Johannsen" was only used in a dream of Squidward's to make his name sound like that of a famous musician (namely Johann Sebastian Bach). Random the Scrambled 20:24, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- You're probably confused with the fact that Mr. Krabs' first name is Eugene. And Squidward's middle name was said to be Johannsen on a virtual trading card on Nick.com -- I don't know if it's still available. It's possible that it was retconned though. --68.189.106.158 (talk) 00:03, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hey which episode was the dream in which "Johannsen" was mentioned? -MoldySoup (talk) 11:13, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- The reference provided for Squidward's full name being "Squidward J. Q. Tentacles" does not reliably support the inclusion of "J" as a middle initial, as the episode Professor Squidward only refers to him as "Squidward Q. Tentacles." While there is a basis for "J" from the Karate Choppers audio commentary by Squidward’s voice actor, this has not been cited on the page. Without a direct and reliable source, the claim about his full middle initials should not be presented as fact. I recommend updating the page with proper citations for the inclusion of "J" or removing it until a reliable source can be provided. JFEntertainment (talk) 17:19, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Separate Subjects
[edit]I don't understand why the subjects Squidward'd Neigbors and Annoyances are separate from each other.
Six legs
[edit]"Although his name has the word "squid" in it and he has six arms, Squidward is an anthropomorphic octopus."
While it is true that Squidward has six legs, that fact does not belong in this sentence since neither a squid nor an octopus has six tentacles. This sentence is addressing the discrepancy that while it seems "Squid"ward should be a squid, he's actually an octopus.
I suggest placing the six legs fact outside of this sentence in a more appropriate place. Otherwise, people may read this article and assume that squids have six tentacles, and that the fact that Squidward has six tentacles should somehow make him more of a squid. BreakSE (talk) 17:55, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- I took the fact out of this sentence and added to the "number of legs" info in the development section. SBSPfan (talk) 18:54, 24 November 2019 (UTC)

Squidward's clarinet, Clarry, is played by Los Angeles-based musician and composer Brad Carow, who also wrote several songs for the series including The F.U.N. Song and Jellyfish Jamboree. To verify this information, visit https://www.ascap.com/repertory#ace/search/writer/Bradley%20Carow Please note that each clarinet performance is improvised, making it an original composition, therefore it is credited on ASCAP as a written composition. As a side note, the clarinet used is a 1958 Buffet R13. Bradcarow (talk) 18:04, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
- I don't think that's appropriate for this article, per WP:UNDUE and WP:TRIVIA. Carow is already credited as a composed in the infobox on the SpongeBob SquarePants article. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:15, 22 October 2019 (UTC)

In the last paragraph of the "Reception" section there is a quote from Roger Bumpass that reads "In fact, if any of us had one[...]". There is a grammatical error here - the word "one" should be "won" as in "In fact, if any of us had won". Addisonbeck (talk) 03:54, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Note: This wording is used in the source, which is a transcript of a verbal interview. My guess is that he meant "won" and the transcriber wrote "one" by mistake. However, both are grammatically correct and have different meanings ("one" would mean "if any of us had [a chance of winning]"). I'm really not sure how this should be handled so I'll leave it for someone else to decide. Jamedeus (talk) 05:17, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Done. While technically 'one' isn't grammatically incorrect here, it doesn't make sense and is almost certainly not what the speaker intended. Clearly all the nominees had a chance, (they were nominated after all), and there was not "a riot in that studio", so 'one' doesn't make sense logically. I've fixed the error without using square brackets (though I have added a hidden comment to explain) per MOS:TYPOFIX. Tollens (talk) 05:47, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
