Prog Rock? Whre are the proggressions on this band?

congratulations. that was the least intelligible sentence i have ever read. 71.236.105.175 03:18, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The 2nd Time this band was together

[edit]

One place says they were together for the second time from 1972 to 1974. Another place on this article says that they were together for the second time from 1973 to 1974. THat needs to be corrected. And since I don't know much about thin band, I can't do that.

BTC 23:06 19 October 2007 (Eastern Time Zone) Also from 1970 till 1974 James C. Hohnbaum also played lead guitar — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.145.182.146 (talk) 22:52, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Location of Greg Ridley's death

[edit]

Wow, since at least Sept. 2007, this bit of misinformation has gone uncorrected. It was not in "Java, Spain" (which doesn't exist). At least one report says Ridley died "in hospital in Alicante", Spain (this is what is used for the article on Ridley). Now, another source says Jávea. That's Jáv-E-a. Now, Jávea is a seaside village in the province of Alicante, whose capital is the city of the same name. Although it's quite possible he resided in Jávea, we should go with Alicante (the city), because it is quite likely that the report is accurate, and it is also quite likely that a seaside village would lack a hospital. Progressive?

[edit]

In my 35 years of listening to progressive rock, this would be the first time I have seen or heard this label applied to Spooky Tooth.
Varlaam (talk) 03:44, 2 December 2010 (UTC) (he typed as Nursery Cryme played in the background)[reply]

The Rolling Stone Record Guide, 1st edition, 1979, a book which does not like progressive very much, describes Spooky Tooth as "heavy ... blues-wrenching ... awesomely loud ... vat of goo ... bluesy heavy metal ... bombastic ... heavy ... growling ... loud blues organ ... totally overdone ... dreadful tailspin ... spritely ... doomsday ... chutzpah".
Ok, the only comment there that sounds at all like progressive would be "bombastic" which is applied to Spooky Two.

I have now deleted the progressive rock misnomer, so kids will not waste their time. Varlaam (talk) 04:20, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why do I think Spooky Tooth issued a single of Elton John's 'Son of Your Father' in 1969? I'm sure they did, that was quite progressive of them, as it was way before the Tumbleweed Connection version.(Victor Middlesex (talk) 23:30, 7 October 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Lead Vocals in Discography.

[edit]

Please, post who sang lead vocal music by music in all albuns of Spooky Tooth. Much fans dont know that information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.8.96.84 (talk) 03:57, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On the first two albums, Harrison and Wright like to sing lead alternately - On Spooky Two for example listen to "Waiting for the Wind": At the beginning it is Harrison "Lonely is the night/now that darkness has fallen/Nothing seems right/and the world is calling" - then Gary Wright takes over. Their voices are quite different. Or take "Society's Child" from It's All About: Harrison starts, Wright is second. (E-Kartoffel (talk) 13:20, 2 June 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Name

[edit]

Whence the name, and what does it mean? Thanks, Maikel (talk) 10:59, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still curious. Maikel (talk) 17:05, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Birds Eye Ad" a hoax

[edit]

The Birds Eye ad is a hoax, generated a few years ago in a photoshop contest. The "manager" in the ad is actor Vincent Gardenia. See https://www.google.com/search?q=Vincent+Gardenia&newwindow=1&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=bc1&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=VP6sUsnJLNLuoAStsYKIBA&ved=0CJMBEIke&biw=1280&bih=586 Also, he's listed as manager of "Spooky Tour '76", a year after they broke up. Removing the photo and all mention until reliable sources dictate otherwise. SteubenGlass (talk) 01:00, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

someone reverted this edit, so I'm reverting it again. The "reference" they added is a blog post, and in the comments section below the post, the blog author says that she found no references to support the veracity of the ad. SteubenGlass (talk) 14:44, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Post-Spooky Golf Cart

[edit]

"Around 2005, I had the opportunity to share a golf cart with Gary Wright . . . "

Who is speaking? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.218.219.21 (talk) 17:00, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's the guy from the golf cart. Maikel (talk) 17:08, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
